Roll with what life gives you and you will go twice as far with true grace.

The times are great, events are shifting around the world and what is happening is happening: because people are being people. But understand your tempo of life doesn’t have to be dictated by outside problems. We use those problems, take that energy to add to our life, and then in grace add our own choices and actions to top it all off in order to be in control of our own life and destiny.

In this we flip the day rather than being flipped into accident victims.

Understand and accept these are great times… how the terms good and bad gets applied in front of that term great… is actually based on your free will and choice of actions of how to shift your own actions.

These are the greatest of times if you live as such!

It is such times indeed.

Make it so.

Namaste

I was asked today for advice or a book on how to help a person to work through transformation.

The first interesting thing in the question was the person didn’t tell me anything about their own transformation at hand. Often times when a person calls out for help, they are so shaken by the process of transformation, they cannot even think in a logical manner any more. This is natural as transformation isn’t a logical process often times. It is a jumping off of life’s path or tracks into a totally new place. It’s a very dis-orientating situation.

The second interesting thing was the hope of there being a simple book to use in guidance.

What is important to understand in transformation is this:

Each person is their own puzzle, it isn’t as if there is a single book that will inspire you in proper manner. I work with each person very differently to help them cross thru many different angles of the process, in order to help them best find a path that matches to their spirit and heart.

For example I wrote “A Personal Tao” book to share in part my journey in transformation and to help others, so I wrote it in a generalized manner, but even in this… it wont perfectly be a guide for the masses, but only those in a similar place of mind and situation that I was in at that time.

Understand that in transformation it’s a very personal process, (hence Personal Tao).

While guides like myself exist, you also must learn how to refine your own awareness of life around you.

In this trust to your own smile, learn how to release judgement, to open up the options that best match to your spirit. The process isn’t an easy one since it requires a person to test their own boundaries and initiate growth. This is always a hard process for any person. People seek books and resources to make that easier, but those very same resources limit you to another person’s path also. You can get clues from such materials but in the end it’s about making the journey your own also.

Transformation is always a personal process. When finding guides or resources to help you, make sure that they respect your heart and nature. This is most especially true in books which contain static and fix states of mind. As powerful as any book can be, in the end all books are still limited, by (1) how they were written, and (2) by how you the reader judges it.

Since transformation is about jumping your tracks in life, these two factors are the limiting aspects of any book. While, a smile and an open heart are always limitless in the opportunities that you can find in any moment you are within.

The first step is then this: trust to the smile and open heart, then be aware that all around you: from, books, events, actions, people are the tidbits you need to assemble your own take-off and path for your transformation at hand.

Namaste

Graceful Holidays to Everyone,

Acceptance for all
may awareness guide us this holiday
in bringing fulfillment to our essence.

2012 year is an important year, a year to become more. Let us together in awareness, help each other move with grace in how we make it our own.

Happy, what is happy all about? In the chase for happy, people often get sad..

Peace what is peace all about? in the enforcement of peace people often create conflict.

So I reworded this Holiday greetings to be a bit more Taoist in heart.

Learn how to reword life’s greetings so that you open the way for deeper and more honest exploration of life and then in reflection the following relationships with others also opens up. If you just reuse the same old greetings, you then only live the same old stories.

sincerely

Without fear , it becomes amazing what one can accomplish.

What is fear then, that it limits a person so?

Fear is a judgement that a negative potential is about to become real.

That’s the trick of fear… it isn’t real in itself. Fear is all about negative potentials and that potential is never real until it’s pushed into reality. If one focuses fear to that negative potential, often times, the fear is the connection required to make the negative potential real.

So in being fearless, you side step around negative potentials. That is very powerful. The only thing is in being fearless you also must not be reckless.

Fearlessness must always be paired with awareness.

Since many people have turned off their awareness, they in turn let their fears compensate for the lack of awareness. That is a sad and limited life indeed.

We move thru potentials, every choice we make, builds up potential or unlocks a potential to become real.

People choose by their actions what will and will not happen. to let fear guide a path, will mean avoiding or missing many opportunities also. If you let awareness guide your path, then it is possible to explore, assess and determine which potentials are the ones most graceful to embrace and how to navigate successfully around any negative results.

Since it’s impossible to avoid all negative impacts we also teach in Taoism to learn from everything including our actions that do stir up negative results. So any step into negative potential continue to build up positive potential for later use.

This simply means living to fear limits our lives and living with awareness it’s possible to make the most of our lives.

Namaste

Here is today’s Student Question

I was wondering when the universe tickles you how do you tickle it back. Please define tickling in this sense to be things as coincidences that start to cease to be improbable over the coincidences that are generally neutral or positive. Sometimes (especially of late) I feel the universe is trying to tell me something but I cant figure out just what exactly

My first response is this:
You tickle back by laughing.

The deeper response

You tickle back simply by pausing. Then feel for the answer without reaching, without action. The answer can be found within simply by the process of releasing into one’s own larger essence.

Think about it from this perspective: if we are the universe, if it tickles, the answer is then also clearly within us, then all it takes is to literally pause to hear it.

The nice contradictions of life. On one level we are clearly an individual: separate and standing tall. On another level, we are all interconnected and one with the universe: in that, we are the universe also.

So when the universe tickles you as an individual. Release ego, go into pause, release your stories, go into the crystal space, then within yourself, now at stillness to your relationship with the universe, the answers will simply be within clearly there to be seen.

To try and reach, if you attempt to go beyond yourself.. you break the delicate balance between these two very different states of mind and focus on your individuality. This disturbs and breaks apart any larger visions. People in reaching create the very disturbance that breaks apart the larger vision being given to you as a gift from your larger whole.

The biggest secret and one that took years to refine is the trick of pausing into such moments. So simple and yet can take a lifetime to master.

Namaste

Pondering how best to balance my time my right now. I for sure don’t lack for projects.

I have the notes and pieces strewn about on my hard drive in order to write 4 different books right now, plus also working on a half dozen other projects.

But time being what time is: relationship with others. I will choose carefully how I spend my time. Since I want to spend it well with my friends and family. Factor in working to earn a living… Well right now that just means the books will wait for a few months more. At least I pulled much of the starting material together.

Perhaps one day I will find a sponsor to help out. But being a Taoist, I am working hard personally, in order to become my own sponsor.

Don’t wait for the universe to validate what we do. We are capable of doing this on our own.

It would be easy to lose oneself in such projects… the truth is such projects are for other people, they form a bridge between myself and others. I won’t rush to finish it all at the cost of not experiencing my own life. I must be sure of having a strong foundation myself to build that bridge upon. I will also finish these projects because, life isn’t lived in isolation either. Projects do help expand life from the act of creation.

In this then projects often become community efforts, and then take time to build community as much as your projects so the two can grow and evolve together.

Time is a balancing act, and if you try to balance with only money or only work or only relationships or only personal time: then one ends up with a unbalanced life indeed.

Mix it up so you have a healthy balance of it all.

Namaste

Listen to your Essence.

When you work to outside measures, you will destroy yourself.

For example modern society pushes over sugared badly prepared food. Many people have diets not balanced to their body’s needs. Poor food choices without enough exercise results in diabetes that slowly destroys the body. I saw a news item the other day how diabetes is the #1 growing ailment with over 600 million people estimated soon to have this problem.

This issue matters to me, because, I am border line Diabetic. My body does have an issue with dealing with sugars. I have been able to deduce this years ago from listening to my body. I will not see a western doctor over this, because I don’t agree with the western model on how to handle this issue, since the western market system has created the very problem in the first place. This is a lifestyle issue and I will address it by listening to my essence and making corrections in my life.

Instead of freaking out, I have over the last 10 years been slowly changing my habits. Slowly taking out foods that I shouldn’t eat and slowly learning to eat new foods. Being active in my life and present in my life. The life style changes I made were slow ones. I have taken over a decade so far, but being human I wasn’t perfect either. So yes till recently I was guilty of having more ice cream than I should and in the morning making my french toast more than I should.

This year and then especially a few weeks ago, my body told me things were getting worse again. So now I have to ramp up the changes in diet. But a funny thing has happened in these few weeks. I no longer want to eat ice cream, I no longer need to have that slice of bread. By listening to my body and giving it time to adjust over the years, now it’s able to release the last of the sugar cravings without much hassle.

10 years ago if I hadn’t begun to make slow changes, if I went into deep changes right away, then I would be forcing myself away from cravings and create ironically a negative feedback loop that would have caused me other issues before I was ready to truly deal with them. By slowly making changes, it allowed my body to shift its desires. Now at this time I can begin the final changes I need to be in a more sustainable lifestyle. Of course if I didn’t make any changes at all ten years ago to slowly shift.. I would be in worse shape now, unrecoverable in my health. (15 years ago I came close to death from food poisoning and then 11 years ago had a toxic exposure that severely impacted me. So I have been healing and de-tangling the different issues caused from all three of these factors).

Understand knowing to listen and starting to even make changes, is a big deal, because it’s so easy to not listen to your body. It’s easy to blame one thing rather than taking the time to understand the unique nuances of the situation you are in. Our minds like to run ahead and ignore truths in front of it.

I am happy, because I know this set of changes within my diet now is the final step to full recovery. The next set of changes won’t be easy, I still have some minor internal fears, a process of personal education and working to listening more deeply to my body, to better understand its rhythms relative to diet and activity. But in my Qi-Gong, in my patience, in my activities I will do so, and live a fuller more complete life as a result.

Understand: there is no instruction manual to magically give you perfect answers (despite all you can read on the internet). I also understand I might make mistakes. But in dealing with this slowly I will mitigate personal mistakes when they do happen and grow from my successes. The worse trap is that the mind tries to force a logical path to everything. Due to our desires our logic is often wrong, desires usually corrupt logic (an issue we are seeing in modern society and in how the 1% acts).

In reality our mind listens , our spirit moves and the body responds with state of being.

So let your mind listen to what your body tells you, let your mind see your spirit’s destination and then the mind can complement the body and spirit to enhance them both.

Between the mind, body and spirit together I will find my answer that evolves each day, to better living.

The truth of this lesson can be applied to many things , not just diabetes. The truth is people don’t listen to their essence and as a result erode themselves away each day stepping away from their nature.

Listen to your essence

and you will live a full life without missing anything.

Fine Print:
This post offers no medical advice for others, this is my personal response to how I am exploring and handling my own personal life. This post offers only a piece of spiritual advice

Listen to your essence

Because in truth, by not listening to one’s essence, is where most things start to go wrong in a person’s life. Each person is responsible for their own answers, for their own choices made. This is part of supporting your own essence.

Namaste

For myself today. I promise to slow down around my daughter so she can be her own person rather than trying to be older in chasing me.

Release and don’t let efficiency drive away the heart of growing from each day.

Yes, being efficient can give you more time, but time saved in such a manner is absolutely wasted if not spent in patience with those you love.

Discover that sometimes patience is efficiency in itself. Sometimes the best path is not to get everything done perfectly. So you can learn and grow.

Being perfect leaves no room for growth, especially for children.

I have much to learn still and I will only learn it with patience from my mistakes.

Namaste

Ps…
There is no need to write pages and pages and pages to explain simple truths.

Don’t measure how valuable something is by the amount, nor by judgements of literal truth.

Measure it in terms of grace.
How it reveals your own life.
Within simplicity of a single statement.
which leads to the next
and the next
and before you know it.. instead of reading pages and pages
you have live it all
naturally…
