You can do more than chase daydreams… but it requires your own action to swim out of the riptides of fear.
In helping people transform, I watch, listen and follow all the various social trends and of course I pay attention to what people are doing. I need to in order to better help people.
What I notice is this. That two major trends are in force:
Many people are waking up, deciding its a time for change.
Sub Trend (1a) those people just jumping in to change…
Sub Trend (1b) Many people wanting change but unsure how to craft it. Uncertainty slowly drags these people into Trend (2)
Subtrend (1b) is far larger than Subtrend (1a)
Many many more people are hunkering down and hiding deeper into routine or not doing anything.
Both trends are happening at the same time. They make sense for hundreds of different reasons.
Trend (1) is dwarfed by Trend (2) In countries like US, UK
Trend (2) is dwarfed by Trend (1) In countries like Brazil, Turkey etc
How to Change
If you are a person who wants to change… But don’t know how, or feel like you should hunker down. I will say this: hunkering down means losing yourself. In a decade defined by change, if you avoid exploring, opening up or are just fearful… You will miss a once in a lifetime experience… to become happy, to be creative, to experience grace, to discover your community and to be fully human.
The social pressure from trend 2 is very very strong, and many people will be dragged against their will by it. It isn’t something to fight, rather it’s a deeply powerful social rip tide, where you have to swim to the side of these social forces and then change your game, your life, to begin shaping your choices to be more in line to a life you want.
As a Spiritual life guard, I do my best to help people. But I can’t help those who swim with the rip tide or trend (2) away from… themselves.
It’s a personal choice in the end, one you have to respect for each person, but it’s deeply sad to see people drowning in fear, in judgement, in ignorance of simple lifestyle changes that would open a life up rather than shut it down.
This is for those people stuck on the edge, who deep inside want to start a better life… but can’t quite work up enough momentum to break free of the old traps of their current life.
You can do more than chase daydreams… but it requires awareness and then patient and directed actions to swim out of the riptides of fear.
People lose direction in times like this. Understand if you feel you have lost direction…
- To pause
- If seeing something appropriate act upon it.
- If nothing seems right, then follow not the flow that is dragging you: but rather get out of the flow in *** sideway*** steps!
- Once out of the flow… Repeat Pause
- Then follow the best action that gets revealed from the pause and then evolve out from there.
