Happy New Year.
Yet another year slips into our view so lets look at Calendars and Time.
Are you really measured by time?
No we are measured by judgement. Sadly we use time to judge ourselves against. Then as we focus on smaller and smaller units of time, we cut ourselves down to smaller and smaller options. Time isn’t the problem, it marches on without judgement. It is how we use time to judge our actions against that becomes a problem.
In order to measure time, we need to then constantly shape, cut and maintain what is around us. So it is how we work with time, within the measurement and synchronization that creates all sorts of issues.
In the modern world, where time is made easy, we forget this. But for example, it comes to light when we feel sluggish in the morning and have to force ourselves to catch back up.
Free Flow or Calendar Check Boxes
As Taoists we do love to flow with life. I use a calendar as little as possible for myself. Yet I use one every day, for others that come and go with the tides of life.
Every day appointments come and go, I merely flow with it all.
The calendar is a game of relationships, try not to make it your personal heart beat… To do so makes a calendar a trap of expectations.
All schedules are merely guidelines to assist multiple interactions to align gracefully in timing but never to define your interactions either.
So yes I use a calendar to help others flow in and out of my life with more fluidity, but I always fully allow for client and student’s sessions to be bounced unpredictably by life. This permits grace and unexpected potentials to be revealed to each person involved in the shifting times. It’s about allowing life to be flexible and shift as everything else around us constantly changes. When something in your schedule doesn’t happen remember this:
It’s a surprise: a gift to go out and enjoy a free moment , unattached to expectations, to be with yourself.
Take the time when your schedule shifts unexpectedly to dance to the music, which is the beat of your life. Go out and spin with the sun or moon rather than try to dictate their times and meeting places to the calendar all the time. In this discover the heavens within your now gifted free time.
It feels the rate of change is increasing as we feel more and more forced to make changes in our life. As the world heats up, the pace of change is increasing. Our attempts to pin down life to the clock, to the calendar become ludicrous in such an environment. When not being able to dictate our personal pace of life we get frustrated as outside forces move faster than we can adapt to.
Some decades in humanities experience tick away like a metronome. We also have jumbled decades where the discordant beat is all about change. I think we can safely say this is a jumbled decade.
Issues arise from when we try to synchronize our life relative to all the changes which are larger than our own life. So in releasing the need to hard measure yourself too much, letting yourself be malleable, as water, to flow with and around changes… your life will become a lot easier in this jumbled decade. In fact you will be able to take advantage of many of the unexpected opportunities that arise along with change.
Happy New year, Let 2015 change, let yourself be surprised, don’t let the times break you. Roll with the changes rather than let resistance break you down.
Tumble with the jumble with style 🙂
